Beauty notes in preparation for photoshoot PRIOR TO ARRIVAL Via BA Creative as per Sherlyn Torres Beauty Team
Attn: Production Team
Please pass below notes to subjects or their respective agents prior to the shoot date ~ feel free to add or remove anything the client and/or the creative director finds suitable when relaying info:
• First and foremost: Please report any allergies or skin sensitivities you may have to Timothy Dunkin or appointed liaison. Our team generally uses fragrance free, organic or plant-based ingredients for skin care as well as non-comedogenic cosmetics to avoid any potential issues. However, knowing any specific allergies ahead of time will certainly help.
• Note: All tools such as hair brushes, palettes, spatulas and makeup brushes will be sanitized between each use. That being said, we do encourage individuals to bring their own tried and true skincare or hair products to completely avoid potential adverse reactions and for extra comfort / peace of mind during the current pandemic regulations.
• Unless directed otherwise, please arrive with short, clean, manicured nails. Female subjects: clear, sheer or neutral nail polish is a safe bet (Ask production if they have a preference for specific shades) The beauty team will only bring non-acetone remover and a small standard nail kit for minor adjustments on set unless specifically booked for manicures on site.
Update Thursday September 17th, 2020 ~~ Given the time constraints, please arrive with nails camera ready if hands will be on camera at any point.
• Specific Notes for MALE Subjects:
Please arrive with a clean, moisturized face. Pre-style hair to your best ability based on your personal style & comfort.
A light tinted moisturizer base or minimal concealer is fine if talent prefers to prep skin ahead of time.
All tools such as hair brushes, palettes, spatulas and makeup brushes will be sanitized between each use.
However, we encourage anyone to bring their personal, tried and true skincare or hair products if preferred.
• Specific Notes for FEMALE Subjects:
• Please arrive with a clean and classic makeup look suitable for daytime / professional headshots.
• Groom, shape & fill-in brows in advance. Choose a shade thats just slightly lighter than your hair colour.
• Avoid heavily shimmered products on the eyes, face & lips unless the makeup line has a finely milled sheen.
• Stick to a fairly neutral palette on the eyes. Browns, taupes, espresso and cream shades work well to add definition but not overpower the eyes.
• Hydrate lips and select semi-matte, long lasting lip shades in case you are required to wear a mask at any point between processing and being on camera.
• Apply a subtle amount of blush and bronzer as you normally would for a daytime / professional headshot look. Soft rose, peach and light mauves work well.
• Ensure to taper and blend all products when applying. Use circular motions on the eyelids, cheeks and face perimeter. When in doubt, blend and blend some more!
• It’s best to wash hair one day prior to shoot or the night before to avoid frizz. Otherwise, ensure to pre-blow dry & style hair before arriving on site to shorten touch-up time on set.
• Pre-style hair to your best ability based on personal style and comfort unless directed otherwise by production team. Choose a style that works well with your natural hair texture.
• If you require root cover up, please make necessary arrangements for hair colouring and hair trims a few days prior to shoot date. Spray versions can also be found at select drug stores.
Note: Washing hair the night before does not apply if subject has naturally curly hair ~ in this case, you may wash your hair on shoot day. Please thoroughly hydrate hair with leave in conditioner or preferred anti frizz treatment and either do a twist out or use a diffuser to dry on the morning of to maintain volume.
All tools such as hair brushes, palettes, spatulas and makeup brushes will be sanitized between each use.
However, we encourage anyone to bring their personal, tried and true makeup or hair products if preferred.
Covid-19 Update: September 2020
Models/talents are required to wear their mask when getting their hair done. Face shields post-makeup would be preferable in order to maintain the looks throughout the day. If you need to step out during the shoot and require a mask to do so, please inform the artist on site and we will add a setting spray and/or use a blotting sheet prior to the talent wearing a mask. As per government requirements, please always keep hands clean (wash hands with soap for 20 seconds upon arrival, and use a hand sanitizer often (formula should be at least 70% alcohol and less than 80% alcohol for efficacy).
We kindly request for subjects to keep their hair & makeup as pristine as they possibly can so as not to delay the photoshoot line-up. Drink and eat prior to your touch-up session if possible!
Optional: Use a face shield in lieu of a traditional face mask during shoot portion of your day to ensure makeup & hair stays put.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read through the above notes!
Looking forward to working with you :D
